CHAMP Rec Soccer

CHAMP Sports offers a variety of age-appropriate soccer leagues. Players may register to play up OR down one age group from their birth date. 
Leagues not applied to this rule: 4 coed instructional soccer and tball, may only play down.

Soccer Leagues:

U18 League

CHAMP U18 league will play in MARS (Mecklenburg Area Recreational Soccer). All practices are held at Calvary; teams may hold one or two practices per week. Games are played at Calvary and at community locations as scheduled.  Please note, players currently enrolled in a club soccer program are ineligible for U12, U14, or U18 rec soccer.

U12 & U14 Leagues

Ages 5-10 League

Teams practice one night during the week and play one game each Saturday; 8 games are guaranteed each season. Players per team and game times vary by age division. Practice night preference can be selected through online registration. All games and practices are held at Calvary CHAMP fields.

Cost: $130

4s Coed Instructional League

4s teams have NO weekday practices. Sessions meet on Saturday at 9:00 AM ONLY. Session includes 25 minutes of practice with a 30 minute game. Teams play 4v4, with 8 players per team. All games and practices are on Calvary CHAMP fields.

Cost: $90

Registration for All Leagues Opens:  June 1, 2013
Registration Late Fees begin: August 12, 2013
Practices Begin:  Week of August 26
Opening Game Day: Saturday, September 7, 2013

CHAMP Soccer Uniforms

CHAMP has a standard soccer uniform for the age 5 -14 leagues. Each player is issued two custom jerseys (Dark Blue = Home / White = Away), one pair of custom shorts, and one pair of uniform socks. Be sure to wear the Home or Away jersey based on your team game schedule.

Equipment

Players MUST wear shin guards during practices and games. Shin guards are not provided, but they can be purchased at sporting goods stores. Athtletic shoes are required; cleats are optional. CHAMP provides soccer balls and goals.

4 yrs Coed: 4v4; 8 players on a team, NO goalkeeper
5 yrs Coed: 4v4; 8 players on a team; NO goalkeeper
6 yrs Coed: 4v4; 8 players on a team; NO goalkeeper
7–8 yrs Boys/Girls: 6v6; 9 players on a team, goalkeeper
9–10 yrs Boys/Girls: 6v6; 9 players on a team, goalkeeper
U 12 Boys/Girls: 8v8; 12 players on a team, goalkeeper
U 14 Coed: 11v11; 15 players on a team, goalkeeper
U 18 Coed: 11v11; 15 players on a team, goalkeeper
